Opus Collection - A Combination of Practicality, Durability and Style

Whenever choosing the perfect commercial vinyl flooring for your business, it's almost always a matter of compromise. Initially, you want something that is stylish and looks good. But looking at the specifications, stylish doesn't always mean it's strong and applicable to the amount of traffic your floor receives.

But here's a good news! Read on...

Karndean's Opus collection combines practicality, durability and style to provide a flooring solution to suit your commercial project. Boasting 10 stone and 13 wood effects finishes from a palette of inspiring light, mid and dark tones, Opus offers both smooth and textured finishes to suit any environment.

Larger planks and tiles have been created reflecting contemporary trends. Our Opus wood planks are available in our largest plank size of 48" x 9" and 36" x 6". The Opus stone effect tiles will be available in 18" x 18" as well as 18" x 24" – the largest tile size available. All Opus planks and tiles are 2.5mm thick and are equipped with a 0.5mm wear layer for scuff resistance and finish durability. Furthermore, the Opus Collection also comes complete with Karndean’s K Guard+ finish which eliminates the time constraints of traditional sealing methods and lengthy ongoing maintenance procedures.

The endeavour to be reactive to the changing commercial market whilst not compromising on quality and design was the rationale behind Opus. The Opus range achieves R10 and R11 slip ratings, meeting the greater emphasis from architects and designers for the application in a multitude of commercial environments.

Like Karndean’s other six flooring ranges, Opus encompasses a choice of beautiful colours and textures, combined with the durability, waterproof and rot proof qualities and ease of maintenance that commercial projects demand. You’ll find that Opus has been created to meet the criteria of commercial flooring, combining cost efficiency, quality and attention to detail you would expect from a Karndean product.

Check out our page about Karndean's Opus collection. Who knows? It might be the perfect commercial vinyl flooring for your business.

Brintons: Vector Concepts Guestrooms and Corridors

The Vector Concepts collection now launches its newest line - Vector Concepts Guestrooms and Corridors. It offers styles which cater to the hospitality industry, particularly designs that are recommended for use in corridors and hotel guestrooms.

According to the website of Brintons,

The designs in the new collection draw on the vast experience of Brintons Designers working globally with architects and designers in the hospitality sector and are illustrated in a way that shows the flexibility of the offer. Corridor designs are shown with complimentary designs used in the same ‘family’ in adjacent guestrooms. A variety of scales from designs that are almost ‘textural’ and organic through to large-scale designs, that will make a real statement in a guestroom are displayed throughout the collection.
This newest line of carpet offers a way to view designs in guestroom areas using either ‘flood plans’ or corridor and guestroom room sets. The designs in the collection are inspired by the sumptuous contemporary takes on the classical style or sets of designs, which have an all over ‘sketchy’, feel designed to translate into a contemporary use of design and colour in public establishments. The styles in this collection can be re-coloured or adjusted according to the client's requirements. Whatever it is, Brintons design team can help develop any of the concepts illustrated in the collection brochure.

Signature Floors: Advantages of Axminster

Continuing on the rich designers tradition of quality carpet weaving craftsmanship, Signature’s Custom Woven t Carpeting Division offers the most versatile and flexible Custom Axminster Program in the industry. Named after a type of hand-weave that originated during the latter part of the 18th century in the old English Town of Axminster, woven Axminster carpets offer, architects and end-users with substantial advantages in aesthetics, performance and value compared to any other available flooring surface on the market.

Woven on looms that offer a unique flexibility in colours and design, each piece of pile yarn in an Axminster carpet is individually woven into place. This integral construction process allows even the most complex and intricate designs to be created with pin-point precision and high-definition. All carpets are comprised of a pile material and a backing. The superior difference of woven Axminster to tufted construction is in the weaving process. On Axminster looms the pile and backing materials are woven together in a single operation. This eliminates the problem of delamination, and accompanying bubbles, ripples, and potential premature product failure which may occur in heavy traffic areas with tufted carpet. The interweaving of the pile and backing results in each face yarn of the carpet being locked into place with the pattern woven all the way through the carpet. This unique construction process provides Axminster carpets with superior durability and appearance retention, purposely designed to withstand the wear and tear that is often associated with high traffic areas.

The benefits of woven Axminster carpet go beyond its superior construction. The prestige of woven broadloom on the floor of any room adds a sense of luxury and sophistication. Whether your requirement is a very large commercial installation or a small residential area, Signature Custom Axminster Program can turn our clients' most creative concepts into beautiful and practical realities.

Signature Axminster quality carpeting is woven of 80% Virgin wool/20% Anti-static nylon for long-lasting beauty and additional strength in heavy traffic areas. The two ply yarns are skein dyed for vivid colors that make the carpet design come alive. As the ultimate choice of specifiers for prestige and complex hospitality installations, wool-rich Axminster carpets provide substantial advantages in aesthetics, durability, appearance retention and overall value than any other flooring surface on the market. As a result of its natural resilience, wool-rich Axminster carpets provide added benefits such as long-term appearance retention, excellent recovery from compression characteristics and contribute to air purity by absorbing harmful pollutants such as Nitrogen Dioxide and Sulphur Dioxide. Wool-rich Axminster carpets can even assist in stabilizing the thermal properties of spaces by absorbing and/or releasing moisture during periods of high and low humidity. The superior performance characteristics of wool-rich Axminster carpets make it ideal for interiors ranging from the most luxurious, in prestige hotels and resorts, to the most practical, in public buildings, corporate headquarters and transport facilities.
